Mr. Dong Baohua is professor and PhD tutor at the East China University of Political Science and Law. He has been playing an important role in organizations like: Vice-Chairman of Social Law Research Association in China Law Association, executive member of the China Association for Labor Studies, Vice Chairman of China Labor Law Research Committee, Director of Labor Law Special Committee of Shanghai Labor Academy, Director-General of Labor Law Research Association in Shanghai Law Association, Attorney at Shanghai Baohua Law Firm.
Prof. Dong has participated in the drafting of many labor laws and regulations at national and local level such as the Labor Law of the People’s Republic of China and Shanghai Labor Contract Regulation.
He has published more than 30 books and 300 articles in the field of labor law since 1987. There are more than 100 articles published in core journals at national level including 50 articles which have received rewards from the National Judicial Ministry and Shanghai Municipal Government. Meanwhile, Prof. Dong has also run more than 10 international projects from U.S., Netherlands and Canada.
Prof. Dong is good at solving complicated cases of labor law. Furthermore, he is the legal counsel of many multinational companies such as Johnson & Johnson Group, Carrefour, Louis Vuitton, Tetra Pak, GM and Pepsi Food.
Prof. Dong has often been invited to give lectures to judges and other groups all around China. Most of these lectures are focused on the analysis and guidance on how to deal with the complex problems in the complicated labor relationship within companies.
